2017年の正月、中田島砂丘で小さな杭を見つけました。すぐにそれが防潮堤建設にともなうものだと気づくと同時に、思っていた以上に海側にあることに驚きました。

「風景が変わってしまう」

せめて写真で残そうと何度も中田島砂丘に足を運び、風紋や堆砂垣が作る影を撮っていました。その中で真冬の砂丘に独りで訪れる若い女性たちの姿を度々目にしました。

悩みや悲しい思いを抱えているであろうその佇まいと、消失していく中田島砂丘の風景が私の中で重なりました。

Photograherとして、浜松を代表する風景が失われていくことへの警鐘を鳴らす意味を込めています。

せめて写真に残そうと中田島砂丘へ足を運ぶなか、真冬の砂丘に独りで訪れる若い女性たちの姿を度々目にした。悩みや悲しい思いを抱えていると思われるその佇まいと、消失していく中田島砂丘の風景が私の中で重なった。

The Last Dune

Losing Ground / Losing Self

It was during the New Year of 2017 when I first noticed a small survey stake on the beach at Nakatajima Dunes.
Realizing it marked the beginning of a coastal defense project, I was struck by how close it was to the sea—and by the reality that the landscape was about to change drastically.

"The scenery will be gone."

Wanting to preserve what I could, I began returning to the dunes with my camera.
During these visits, I often saw young women standing alone in the bitter winter wind, gazing out over the empty sands. There was something fragile and unresolved in their presence—
and somehow, they mirrored the vanishing dunes themselves.

Through portraits of these women, I seek to express the quiet sorrow of losing a landscape so deeply tied to the identity of Hamamatsu.
This work carries a contradiction: we are destroying a place where life begins in order to protect life itself.
